The Shadow and the Reflection

The queer forms cast forward by obstructed light
Spawn figures that impel one into thinking,
Brooding over thoughts that could span miles.
The augury to festivity, distress or hope.
The freshness restore a weary traveler,
The same warn of the night after the dusk,
Impersonating as the spectre
Of some past, long forgotten.
The distortion of the shape
Gives rise to the murkiness of qualms,
Setting off the mendacious eclipse,
Just as the moon so trivial
Hides away the mightiness of the sun.

Another form complete in itself
Created in the aura of events,
Musings or the popular belief.
The judgment that ensues forth
Oblivious of its future which
Ends in gaiety, ruin or stupor.
The appealing beauty of one
Posed against the hideousness of the other.
The shape shifting that might occur
As the receptacle erodes or toughens
Altering the image held within
Of the being that stares back into face,
From the back of the mirror.

Together provide canvas to the intellect
A silhouette to be filled in
With colours of manifestation.
These mischievous games of light
Continue unto eternity.
The vestiges of our past together,
Memories of the walks along the dusky roads,
Or the visits to a bistro or boutique.
How the bondage yet endures!
The fidelity of the ages lingers still,
The love for the heart ages beyond the will.
Submission offers the only respite,
For, you are my shadow,
And I, your reflection.

An Ode to the Glorious!

A persona with such brilliant resplendence,
Altruistic, though, with hint of self indulgence.
Set to accomplish tasks, herculean,
And, follower of philosophy, epicurean.
Adorned with the leonine nobility,
Yet, encompassing the leporine serenity.
Comrade to comrades, reliable,
Rival to rivals, irreconcilable.
Exuding sincere benevolence,
A gentleman with beaming countenance.

Even the cosmos vie
To surrender to his obsequiousness, sweet.
For, just a glimpse of him
Tenders the soul such a heavenly treat.
He is the fortune of his loved ones,
An embodiment of immense resilience.

Thou art perseverance personified,
Dignity per se dignified.
Thou art the sapience,
That springs from the oracle.
Thou art the sanguinity,
That portends a miracle.

Learned from him the essence of persistence,
Witnessed in him the ardor for existence.
Have dedicated to him my passion whole,

He is the sine qua non of this fervid soul.
